What we did today...

We finally got to really enjoy our backyard! We set up the kiddie pool and played outside for hours! Our yard is slowly getting to be a great place to spend the day.

Thanks to Kent & Jessica for Riley's new suit! She looks so cute in it. (Yeah, I didn't wait until her B-day to open it...well, Jed didn't wait.)

Miss Rye

Riley is talking these days...she mostly says things like "Da-dee" & "yeah" & "Jed". Although, today it sounded like she was saying 'sit down' (which I frequently have to tell her) when she climbed into Jed's little rocking chair that she always wants to stand in.

The other day I asked her to say "Mama" and she looked at me, said "Da-dee," immediately followed by "Phleepppppp!"

Family Time

We got to spend some much needed, much anticipated time with my mom & dad & brother Nate a couple weeks ago. Mom & dad were here for just a couple of days, but Nate was here over a week! It was so great to have him here! The kids really love him & he was so much help. One day he did all kinds of stuff around the house that had been needing to get done for so long. Drew was giddy when he got home!!

Mommy & Daddy Go On Vacation

Drew and I got to take a vacation this past weekend...without the kids! Our friends Tara & Emily stayed w/ the kids all weekend and we took off for Baton Rouge. (Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!) We got a great suite at a hotel w/ a free cooked-to-order breakfast & a nice pool. We ate dinner out at Joe's Crabshack & Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro. We went to an improv comedy show at a coffee shop & played putt-putt. Drew won. (I know I'd better put it in now or it would be a comment later where he'd get to gloat about it. This way, I can make it sound very anticlimactic.) We really had a great time just hanging out and really doing what we knew the other would enjoy. It was SOOO great to sleep in. And to just do whatever the heck we wanted. And to eat out without having to cut something up into little bitty peices.

We did get a flat on the 18 mile bridge on the trip there. I was totally freaked out. It is the WORST place to have to change a tire. But Drew did it in record time! And we were eventually able to get to a place where we could spend $70 on a stupid new tire...although, really we just got 4 new (used) tires put on about a month ago. Frustrating.
